Gender Reveal Party: It’s A Girl!

 What’s In The Box?!?!

dsc_0185Well, the wait is finally over.  After all of my complaining about how foul my wife was for making me wait all of last week to find out what we were having, with the opening of one giant box (shown in the video below) my entire world was changed.  We are having a baby girl!

It is still surreal to me and is just now starting to set in.  Jay English, the man who swore a vow of child chastity at the age of 12, is a little less than 5 months away from seeing the miracle God put into motion when He gave us the ability to create in our own image.  I am honestly blown away every time I look at an ultrasound picture and see features forming that were not present at the previous appointment.  It is just absolutely amazing.

I have to be honest and admit that I had more fun at the party than I originally expected to have.  Now, I’m not saying that I suddenly had a revelation that allowed me to understand why women think this kind of stuff is exciting…I still wanted to know what I was having back on Tuesday!  However, sharing this kind of experience with family & friends added a layer to the reveal that would not have been there had I have hid in the closet with the gender reveal envelope, that steamer, & the flashlight I was talking about in my last post, The Gender Reveal That Wasn’t.

With that being said, I want to say thank you to everyone who came out to the house.  Thank you to everyone who joined us via FaceBook live and watched the reveal as it happened.  Thank you to everyone who commented on the poll we put up and chose either “Team Touchdown” or “Team Tutu”.  None of this would have been the same without you.

So, now that I know what we are having, the real fun can begin.  I’ve got to start studying names for girls so that I can be ready when Sonia comes at me with her list…cause I know that’s coming.  I have to get signed up for my concealed carry class…cause if she looks anything like her Momma, I know them little boys (who will think the way that I used to as a teenager) are coming as well.  Lastly, I’ve got to start getting her room ready, because I know that my time is quickly running out and in 5 short months she will be here.  And honestly, I can’t wait to meet her.
